It is taking me SO LONG to get through these Barce pics...! I swear I must have taken about 3,000 photos. I will never go on holiday with my camera again!! (I will. I'm completely lying).
These ones were from Day Four. Me and Sarah went for a carb-loaded lunch after our previous day of debauchery in Sitges, at a pasta bar called Macchina. Macchina was cool and quirky inside (I mean, why NOT have a big bike disassembled and attached to your wall?) and the thick spinach, pesto and chicken tagliatelle and punch-you-in-the-face-strong garlicy bruschetta really hit the spot. All washed down with a lovely latte. Mmm.
It set us up for the day ahead, that's for sure. Which is lucky, because we ended up walking for miles around Park Guell (one of the major works of Gaudi in Barcelona) where we saw some of the most beautiful gardens and monuments. It was just lovely. We were so happy we'd stumbled across this on our map. We hadn't ever planned to go here, but it turned out to be one of our best days in the city I think :)
And here are the pics:
SUCH an incredible day :) (although it's making me miss the warm sun...! January, you can leave now).
In the evening, we went to one of the more local restaurants, Mi Gracia, which, to top off an amazing day, was just phenomenal. We tucked in to Empanadas, the most incredible grilled Provolone cheese, Tataki of red tuna (with rice vinegar, soya sauce, sesame and asparagus), and a tower of mediterranean vegetables and white fish. Mmmmmm!
This picture is probably one of my favourites from the whole trip... a pooch we spotted in Park Guell. Wearing pants. The crazy fool. Que sera sera.
