Pottery Painting Cafe is... well, exactly what it says on the tin. It's a pottery painting haven on North Road, where you can choose from over 200 ceramic pieces to design and decorate! I met M2 and her two little cherubs there on Saturday, to "help" them with their masterpieces (they needed no help - these kids are creative geniuses!) M2 and I sat back with teas and coffees, and let them be.
The pots / pans / plates are glazed and fired for you, ready to pick up later on in the week.
It was a lovely little day. The studio fee is £5 per person, and most pottery costs between £10 - £20. The staff there were super friendly, too. Not a bad idea for when you're feeling particularly artistic, and fancy a cake and cup of Earl Grey on the side. For contact details, click here.

Afternoon Tea in Westminster
On Tuesday, I went to London to visit the Queen. I didn't, really. I went to meet my mum. We bypassed Buckingham, and headed straight for Westminster, where our champagne afternoon tea awaited! We said a quick hello to Big Ben and Westminster Abbey (or Westminster CRABBY, if you're a Friends fan...) on the way...
... and after a brief encounter with Andy Murray (no pictures, unfortunately!) got tucked in to the goodies on offer at the Westminster hotel.
Everything was lovely. The cakes were rich and delicious, the champagne cold and intoxicating, and the tea refreshing! For options and bookings, click here.
